StaplesAbode Social Welfare Foundation is a non-profit organisation which registered child care institution run in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Act. The focus of the home is to provide a loving and nurturing environment for children living with HIV who have been abandoned by their family. We use to provide care and support for HIV/AIDS infected abandoned kids and orphan children. We have facilities to accommodate 15-20 Children at a time.
The centre has facilities for treatment, nutrition, medical care, nursing care, counselling, educational care etc. We do not receive any support from the government and we have so far been running our centre with our own resources and help of generous donors. We find it difficult to maintain our mission without support from donors and volunteers.
Education is the key to a good life. It gives one hope that, after completing the recommended phase, one will live a good life and afford the basic needs in life.
In StapleAbode Social Welfare Foundation All the children are going to private school And getting additional educational support inside care home.
Volunteers provides the online education through the Zoom/google meeting to care home kids.
StaplesAbode Social Welfare Foundation committed towards the health of children in the care. An ANM is present in the care home to take care of the children’s.
Childrens are taken to the hospital for regular health check-ups and All of the children are on Anti-Retroviral Therapy and the Care givers take extreme care to ensure that the children adhere to the medicine regime and that the children receive a highly nutritious diet.
Regular counselling sessions with the psychologist are arranged to children for their better physical and mental being.
The most common malnutrition form observed among HIV-infected children and adolescents worldwide was the acute malnutrition or wasting syndrome, characterised by significant decrease in body fat, and lean and bone mass, that was also accompanied by growth retardation or stunting.
